MoG! Fact
One of the first things developed by Spork and myself before even working on the story itself was creating a magic system to be used in the story. Being fans of role playing games such as Final Fantasy and other series', not to mention having seeing many fantasy anime's such as "The Slayers", it's obvious to see where the inspiration was when coming up with these things. Originally in the story's first version, Maria attended a magic school (think Harry Potter) where she learned her magic. In this version there is a larger emphasis on finding magic scrolls to revive the once dead magic system, so I find it rather crucial to document the ones currently available.       Magic System »


Currently there are two divisions in the magic system, white and black. At one point the magic system consisted of well over 1000 spells. Word has is that documentation of lost spells exist all over the planet but are extremely hard to find. The following spells are the ones that are currently common knowledge among official sorcerers/sorceresses & "Magic Outlaws".

White Magic

* Shield of Light: The caster and who or whatever they wish is encased by what appears to be a dome. More advanced magic casters have been known to isolate the power of this spell into their hands, thusly covering themselves with the spell like a shield.

* Rebirth: Cast when someone is on the verge of death, this spell is used to heal mortal wounds that would otherwise cause death. Cannot cure diseases.

* Healing: A spell that cures fatigue and small wounds.

*Ray of Light: A concentrated source of power based on the casters belief in the gods that travels in a straight path until it comes in contact with something. One of the most powerful offensive white magic spells.

* Ronde de Luce: When a magic caster places both hands to their side, a small source of power resembling a discus forms under each palm, allowing the caster to project them repeatedly and quickly.

* Cry of the Martyr: Sacrificing one's own life essence, the caster can wish it upon a person, doubling their magical or physical powers. Using this spell causes the caster to fall into a stage of unconsciousness for an undetermined period of time. Has been known to cause death if used too frequently. *I sacrifice myself, so that that those that come after me may one day see the light…Cry of the Martyr!"

* Stream of Fate: The ultimate white magic spell. The Stream of fate gathers the energy of the Fates, whom all living things must succumb to, and is harnessed by the magic caster. In a blinding rush of white light, the target, no matter whom or what, is destroyed. Does not work on the living dead.

Note: Only knowledge of the "Stream of Fate" spell exists. No scroll with the encantation to cast the spell has been found yet.



Black Magic

* Terra Rave: Causes the ground in the immediate area to shake furiously.

* Doma Split: A spell which causes the ground to split directly in front of the caster for a short amount of time.

* Titan Smash: Upon casting, large boulders appear as if from nowhere and can be directed towards a target.

* Sonic Crush: From the palm of the casters hand, a concentrated gust of wind extends outward reaching the speed high enough to cause a sonic boom. It has been known to be used for construction by authorized magic users more than for battle.

* Aire Lift: With the assistance of this spell, the caster is able to fly for a short period of time

* Folata di Vento: A spell cast for accelerated speed during flight.

* Lightning Rain: Directs several blasts of thunder on a specific location.

* Fulmine Flash: A small ball of lighting is formed in the palm of the magic user which can blind a target when the palm is quickly shut.

* Fire Wave: From the palm of the magic caster, a wave of fire resembling a dragon races towards the target until contact is made.

* Flame Forge: Gives the elemental property to the casters weapon.

* Ignis Onde: After gathering magical energy in the palms of one's hand to the side, this energy can be released in a direct but rather small beam of energy. It has been used in several cases of assassination.

* Poison Mist: Causes the area around the caster to be engulfed by a small mist of poison. The strength of said poison is determined by how strong the caster is. The person who creates the spell is unaffected by the mist.

* Venom Fang: Causes the weapon of the caster to be laced with a deadly poison.

* Water Slash: Gives the elemental property to the casters weapon.

* Ice Spear: Forming a triangular shape with the tips of ones fingers, a long sharp spear made of ice races towards a target.

* Dark Photon: One of the stronger black magic spells, Dark Photon is a concentration of all the evil that resides within the world that can be shot multiple times from the palms of one's hands.

* Power Excel: Although it takes a few minutes to charge, casting this spell enhances the casters black magic power for an undetermined period of time.

* Devil's Reign: When the magic caster places their hand on the ground, a surge of a black magic races towards the target.

* Fade to Black: After casting this spell, one loses all sense of remorse and goes into a berserker like rage.

* Rain of Blood: The spell requires actual blood from the caster to be on the palm from a wound that is not self inflicted. Directing their hand in the direction of a target, blood like pins race towards the target.

* Avalon Stream: The ultimate black magic spell. Casting this brings about a massively high chance that the world itself will be destroyed due to the fact that the caster must contain the energy of Avalon herself.

Note: As with the "Stream of Fate" spell, nothing outside of knowledge of the existance of this spell exists.
